The present article investigates the role of public institutions in community-oriented crime prevention. Community-oriented police measures and getting help of public institutions in the prevention of crime is among ideas of effective crime prevention strategies. The effects of participation in community-oriented crime prevention in Khorramabad NGOs in this regard were studied. By utilizing scientific theories, four hypotheses such as the effect of economic contributions, social, cultural and public institutions on crime prevention, were investigated. Following the method of survey, researcher-made questionnaires were assessed. The population consisted of employees and social scientists, managers and employees of the police and judicial organizations and NGOs employees that are all of 180 people who were asked to fill out the questionnaires.
