Aim and Background: Crime is a prominent feature of all modern cities, however, not all urban neighborhoods are affected equally. The results of various investigations indicate that crimes occur in small clusters of cities. Accordingly, the Purpose of the present research is determination of drug-related crime Hot-spot in the Hashtgerd new town.
Methodology: This research is an applied one and its method is descriptive-analytical. The present research is used from the standard deviation ellipse and the center of mean, nearest neighbor index, kernel density in GIS environment for determination of drug-related crime Hot-spot.
Findings: Center of mean of drug-related crimes is located near phase 7. The standard deviation ellipse is located along the east-west of the city. According to the kernel model, drug-related crime Hot-spot are in phases 4 and 7 of the Hashtgerd new town. The nearest neighbor index test showed that drug-related crimes were clustered in Hashtgerd, and Z score of these crimes confirms their clustering (-9.008200).
According to the results of Chi-square test, according to the error level of 5% and the degree of freedom 6, there is a positive correlation between economic, social, cultural and physical indicators and the formation of geographical areas of drug abuse in the new city of Hashtgerd. The calculated chi-square value for economic, physical, social and cultural indicators is equal to 6.15, 6.52, 4.45 and 3.47, respectively
Conclusion: Based on the results of Spearman correlation coefficient, all four physical, economic, social and cultural indicators have a positive effect on the formation of geographical areas of drug abuse in the new city of Hashtgerd. The level of significance of all four variables is less than 0.05 and indicates the existence of a significant relationship between the studied indicators and the formation of crime hotspots
